On 02-06-2014,
the State of Telangana was formed from the composite State of Andhra Pradesh.
Hon'ble High Court of Andhra Pradesh was renamed as High Court of Judicature at
Hyderabad for the State of Telangana and the State of Andhra Pradesh. It
started functioning from 2-6-2014 as common High Court for both the States.
Telangana
Judges' Association was formed on 05-6-2014 vide Registration No. 326/2014. It
adopted the by-laws of the erstwhile AP Judges' Association registered in the
year 1974. Few members who held the post of President in the former Association
were elevated to Hon'ble High Court.
From 01-01-2019
the common High Court for both States was divided, and a separate High Court
was formed for the State of Telangana in the name of High Court for the State
of Telangana with 13 Hon'ble Judges, based on the Presidential notification
upon Bifurcation of composite High Court for both the states of Telangana and
Andhra Pradesh.
On 20-04-2019
General Body meeting of Telangana Judges' Association was held at Telangana
Judicial Academy, Secunderabad for amending the Bye-Laws (Memorandum of
Association, Articles and Rules of the Association) to enable all the Judicial
Officers, who were finally allocated to the State of Telangana to become
members of Telangana Judges' Association. A resolution was passed accordingly.
Necessary due amendments were made to the Bye-Laws and the same were entered in
the Registers of the Office of Registrar of Societies.
On 22-07-2020 Election Notification was given through WhatsApp group of Telangana Judges for electing the Executive Committee of the Association. The present Executive Committee was unanimously declared elected on 02-08-2020.
To be within easy reach of the members it was unanimously decided in the second virtual ECM held on 12th, September 2020 to have a separate website for the Association to share useful information, details of members of the Association, important events and to create a platform for willing Judicial Officers to share and exchange knowledge by contributing articles and write-ups on legal topics.
