SECOND NATIONAL JUDICIAL PAY COMMISSION

The Supreme Court of India by the order dated 09.05.2017 in W.P. (C) No. 643 of 2015 - All India Judges Association versus Union of India & others appointed a Commission with Mr. Justice P. Venkatarama Reddi (P.V. Reddi), former Judge of Supreme Court of India as Chairman and Justice R. Basant, former Judge of Kerala High Court as Member of the Commission.


The Commission will be assisted by a Secretary, preferably a Judicial Officer either in service or retired.

One Man Commission


The One Man Commission appointed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in IA No. 244 in WP(C) No. 1022/1989, after determination of revision of pay, allowances, perquisites payable to Judicial Officers, revised pension and other allowances payable to pensioners and family pensioners, is placing its Report dated 17-07-2009.

SHETTY COMMISSION REPORT

As per Resolution of Ministry of Law, Justice and Company Affairs (Department of Justice)  the First National Judicial Pay Commission was constituted by the Government of India on  21st March 1996.  It is headed by Justice Jagannatha Shetty, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India. The members of the Commission are Justice P.K. Bahri (Rtd.), Former Judge of the Delhi High Court, and Justice A.B. Murgod (Rtd.), Former Judge of the Karnataka High Court. The Commission submitted its Report regarding Pay Structure of the Judicial Officers of the Subordinate Judiciary of the country during November 1999.
